MITOSIS - 2002

Created for the Mendel Museum in Brno, the home of Gregor Mendel’s work on genetics, Mitosis is a collection inspired by looking at plant cells in the process of dividing and splitting. A series of spheres have been blown and progressively stretched in their molten state until new forms emerge. Filled with plant material from different geographical areas, the vessels allude to scientific models expressing a moment of creation frozen in time.
